Wrington Redhill reserves 4 Selkirk Utd 4.

Some late lacklustre defending allowed Selkirk back into this game to steal a point. The game had started evenly enough until the visitors opened the scoring with a flukey goal when an attempted clearance was blocked by the knee of Dan Talleny and looped over keeper Skidmore’s head and into the net. The equaliser some 10 minutes later was a real stunner. Left back Sam Hickman found himself in possession well inside the Selkirk half so hit cut inside and unleashed a rocket of a shot that left keeper Allen rooted to the spot. 1 each became 2 -1 soon after when some good work by Ealden saw the ball slid through to Ryan Pugh who just had to pass it into the net past Allen.

Half time 2-1

Early in the 2nd half Wrington Redhill went further ahead after some good work from Kyran Garrett and  a sprinkle magic from the feet of Ethan Williams set Ryan Pugh up to smash in his 2nd. Selkirk were spurred on by this and were soon awarded a penalty when Espioto was brought down in the box. Adam Hastings stepped up but his penalty was well saved by Tommy Skidmore down to his left. Selkirk continued to push and soon Carlo Espioto made it3-2 from the edge of the box. Wrington Redhill though they’d made the game same when Williams was set up by veteran Mark Brown to slam a shot past Allen for 4-2 with 10 minutes to go. Selkirk had other ideas and right near the end got their3rd when they were awarded another penalty and this time Ben Forse stepped up to slam home. The ref must have been thinking about blowing up for full time when some dallying around at right back allowed Selkirk to cross the ball for Richard Foggin to head home the equaliser.
