Another fine away win from Wrington Redhill this time in bright sunshine at Nailsea. The pattern of the afternoon was established early on as Nailsea played a short sweet passing game so often broken down by Elliot Edwards and Connor Harding-James in the heart of the visiting defence. Wrington Redhill relied on a series of long balls up to the super lively forward line of Cody Parslow, Jack Hutchings and Charlie Eason. They also looked threatening thanks to some long throws from both full-backs Luke Weeks and Ollie Andrews. The 1st goal came after half a hour when Parslow attempted to flick a bouncing ball in the penalty box over his marker Cameron Henderson who stuck out a hand to give away a penalty. Jack Hutchings (sponsored by OES Electrical) strode confidently onto the spot kick and struck low and firm past keeper Rob Brown,who has been jumping around as if struck by formication, for a 1 nil lead. Things could have gone wrong soon after when Hutchings was late with a slide tackle on Nailsea full-back Aaron Smith and was rightly booked. 5 minutes later Hutchings was again in action when, helping out his under pressure defence he mistimed his challenge and Pollard fell to the ground for a penalty to Nailsea. Archer took a decent penalty low to Rob Hannah’s (sponsored by Tim Bush) right but somehow the visiting keeper made a double save first from the penalty and then from the rebound. The Wrington Redhill management team made the though decision to replace Hutchings as the ref had a bumleaf in his book ready to record a sending off

As Josh Skuse, Marshall Hale and Cam Milkins worked theirs socks off in midfield they were mostly closing people down and chasing the ball as the home team dominated possession. With much to do in the visitors back line it was a blow when after an aerial clash Luke Weeks was left on the floor holding his shoulder. Weeks had to go off so Parslow dropped in at right back as Wrington Redhill welcomed back Harrison Campbell after a long layoff with a hamstring injury. Nailsea had lots of possession but didn’t really test Hannah other than him catching or clearing crosses and scooping up hopeful through balls.The visitors extended their lead when a clever back heel from Campbell fed the ball to Jaiden Morris on the edge of the box who made himself a yard and crashed a shot past Brown into the bottom corner. Still Nailsea kept playing their passing game and kept the ball for long spells but didn’t really trouble Hannah thanks to the battling performances of those in front of him. Reinforcements came in the shape of Max Smith (for Skuse) Jake Marshman (for Eason) and Will Pennington (for Hale )The lads at the back were winning their headers blocking shots and stopping Nailsea in their tracks all over the pitch. With 10 minutes remaining the ball was played up to Jaiden Morris who was bundled over just outside of the box. As Cam Milkins stood over the free kick a wall was lined up and all the big lads jostled for position at the far post. Milkins fooled everyone when he strode up and bent the ball around the bottom near side of the wall and into the net leaving keeper Brown flat footed ! 3 nil was the final score as Wrington Redhill left with all 3 points and the management team’s early season anhedonia has disappeared!
