The Roy Hillman Memorial Lunch took place on Thursday 14th December at the Plough Inn Wrington with 23 ex-players in attendance. Roy started this tradition years ago when he would invite a random group of ex-footballers who had either played along side him or for him over many years at the club for a Christmas Lunch. After his sad passing some of the ex-players decided to continue this tradition in his memory and players from the 60’s, 70’s, and right through to the current 1st team manager gathered to drink a toast in his memory and swap hugely exaggerated stories from the past. Those who had gathered were very pleased that Roy’s widow Eira and other members of his family were able to join them for the meal. Socialising went on well into the afternoon and bragging rights over who had made most effort went to Tim Bush who was here from Riogordo in Spain where he now lives.
