Imperial 0 Wrington Redhill 0
This was an entertaining game between 2 evenly matched teams where nobody deserved to lose and nobody did quite enough to win. Jack English was forced to make changes to the back line but Lewis Milkins, Edwards , Skuse (sponsored by Aquatics ant home) and Andrews dealt with everything that came their way. Cam Milkins, Hale and Marshman were getting a grip on midfield and Hale slid a ball through to Hutchings to get the 1st shot of the game off that was comfortably saved by Harper in goal for the home side. Imperial’s best chances of the half came from corners as centre half Simpkins met corners from the left and right but both efforts were straight at Rob Hannah (sponsored by Tim Bush) who gathered them comfortably . Hannah’s kicking was impressive as always finding Harrison Campbell and Lewis Chappell to set things in motion. The haweshole Marshall Hale who seems to get better every week, was becoming a real threat as he weaved his way to set up chances but had made himself a bit of a target as first Siddall and then Simpkins were booked for fierce tackles to stop him.
Half-time 0 – 0
Campbell had picked up a slight knock in the 1st half and was a replaced at half time by Jaiden Morris who at first seem ed to be linking well with Chappell down the right. Cam Milkins put Hutchings ( sponsred by OES Electrical Supplies) through down the left and as he closed in on the goal with everyone in pursuit Harper came off his line and the chance was snubbed out. The big talking point came soon after as the cacozealous Jaiden Morris chased onto a long through ball and Harper advanced off his line to clear. Harper got ther 1st and the fully committed Morris caught him as he cleared causing him to scream out in pain. Such was the sportsmanship in this game that the stricken keeper was tended to by Hale from the opposition who is a qualified physio. His healing hands were so good that the keeper was soon back on his feet and played the rest of the game. Morris was not so lucky, having stood by and watched the treatment feeling as popular as a peneid in a vegan pie he was eventually spoken to as given a straight red card by the referee. Down to 10 men with half an hour left the visitors were under pressure now but thanks to some stern defending they stood firm .Ironically the best chance of the afternoon fell to Hale but through on goal he attempted to lift the ball over the previously half dead Harper but the keeper somehow managed to lift it over the bar. The rest of the half was Imperial pressure but the visitors defended well and the have ended in stalemate.
