Honours were even eventually in this thrilling match, Wrington Redhill might feel they created enough chances to have won the game but in the end they were very grateful to goalkeeper Matt Hill who saved a last minute penalty.
The home team took the lead early on when Chis Taylor ran onto a through ball to easily slot past Hill. Things then took a turn for the worse for Worle when popular goalkeeper Ben Dancey injured himself pulling of a miraculous save from a George Martin flicked effort and was carried off. Ryan Hodrion took over and saved well from a drive by Louis Rouvrais. He could do nothing however to stop the equaliser just after when good work from Rory Thomas and Rouvrais set up Chris Bradley who curled his shot into the corner of the net. End to end football followed, Ollie Clements cleared off the visitors line and George Martin almost put them in front but his shot came back off the post.
The 2nd half continued with both teams pressing for goals. For Wrington Redhill a Thomas cross was headed against the Worle bar by Rouvrais and at the other end Ethan Johnson was thankful when his miss placed defensive header came back off the post. Sam Clements cleared another Worle effort off the line but Worle were now pushing hard for the lead. That came when a free kick from just outside the box was well saved by Hill only for Tom Adams to crash home the rebound. On 76 minutes Wrington Redhill we’re back on level terms when Martin ran throughout rob the ball from goalkeeper Hodrion to score.
I remained like that until the final minute when a cross from the right into the visitors box caused panic and resulted in everybody jumping ending up in a pile of arms and legs on the floor. The referee saw it as a penalty but justice appeared to be done when Hill guessed correct and saved Chris Taylor’s spot kick
