Clutton 2 Wrington Redhill 2

Following last week’s draw another 2 points were dropped at Clutton. Plenty of possession  and chances created are not being converted into goals which should be leading to convincing wins.

Wrington Redhill went ahead after 5 minutes when Sam Harvey threaded a pass between 2 defenders allowing Joe Creese a free run at goal and he slotted past McKenzie Denman in goal for Clutton. A combination of poor finishing and miss placed passes were punished when Clutton equalised through Jacob Bardi when he picked up a poor clearance and his firm strike rocketed past Logan McKenzie for the equaliser. The situation was made worse when surprisingly Clutton went ahead when Saul Gibbs beat McKenzie from close range.

For the 2nd period club stalward Rory Thomas came on at right back allowing Josh Pitt to take over from the injured Pugh in midfield joining up with Harvey and Ollie Clements. The trio gained control feeding the ball continuously to the ever-dangerous magic man Reece Ferguson-Obamwonyi . Clutton could not contain him and ended up with 6 different players booked for bringing him down as well as time wasting.

Chances came and went until finally an equaliser was scored by George Fake who had replaced Jack Hutchings after Leigh White and Harvey had kept the ball alive from a deep cross. Buoyed up by the goal the visitors then went in search of a winner replacing left back Bonner with Ethan Williams to give another attacking option. Dan Ferguson marshalled things at the back to keep Clutton at bay but the winner was just out of reach.  Josh Pitt looked like he might provide it when put through near the end but shot over.

The team need to improve in both boxes to earn the points their play deserves.

Supporters Man of the Match was Ollie Clements for a solid all round performance at both ends.
