A Win at home to Keynsham Town res

Wrington Redhill 2 Keynsham Town reserves 1

This game was a scrappy affair leaving both teams thinking they should have done better. Wrington Redhill certainly bossed the 1st half without making the most of their chances. The first chance came after a series of corners when the ball was cleared only as far as Cam Milkins on the edge of the box and his shot was pushed away for a corner by visiting keeper James Connor. The resulting corner was floated in high by Milkins and was missed by everyone including Connor as he contested with skipper Harding-James and the ball was allowed to bounce. One big bounce and it arrived at the far post for Elliot Edwards to volley home from close range for his 1st goal for the club. Wrington Redhill continued to dominate the game and inevitably went 2 up on the half hour. Cody Parslow (sponsored by Safe Digging Surveys) picked the ball up on the edge of the box and laid it into the path of Jake Marshman on the right, his cross was cleverly turned in by Jack Hutchings (sponsored by OES Electrical Supplies Ltd) from close range. Keynsham certainly weren’t ready to give up without a fight despite being 2 down as the lively centre forward Baiomar Mboob was making his presence felt and shot over the bar with a chance he’d made for himself.
Half time 2 – 0
Despite being 2 down and already bottom of the league Keynsham must have been lemonading at half time as they came out for the 2nd half determined to do better and dominated from the start. Captain. Jed Tregidgo was pulling the strings in midfield and had Cam and Lew Milkins  working their socks off to try to keep Wrington Redhill in front.. Substitutes Eve and Barton brought more energy to the Keynsham front line leaving the home back 4 of Edwards, Harding-James, Skuse and Holmes working overtime compared to the 1st half. With 20 minutes remaining things got worrying for the home supporters when Keynsham pulled one back out of the blue. From a spell of possession 1 clever pass saw Thomas Eve clean through to score leaving Rob Hannah no chance. Wrington Redhill were now needing to get things under control and somehow keep the marauding Tregidgo under control. Well Cam Milkins got that job done as he drew a foul the combative visiting skipper for his 2nd yellow resulting in his sending off. Sadly whilst the ref was trying to play advantage Cam Milkins was protesting too vigorously and with the ref being  rhadamanthine got himself sent off at the same time! These 2 number 8s who been battling a kicking each other all afternoon it was good to see them share a man-hug as they left the field , more out of respect than concupiscent. With their skipper gone Keynsham were unable to find an equaliser so the home team took all 3 points.
Supporters Man of the Match- Jack Hutchings. -scored his customary goal and worked his socks off all afternoon.
