Hengrove Athletic res 0 Wrington Redhill 3

On a very warm afternoon at Hengrove Wrington  Redhill  started with a new look as player- manager Leigh White slotted into the back line as sweeper and new signing Callum Thompson made a very impressive debut in midfield. The 1st chance of the afternoon fell to Hengrove but the effort was blocked and then cleared by Ollie Clements. Wrington Redhill then took control of the game producing some very good chances and forcing a string of saves from the home  keeper. After 10 minutes a great ball from Joe Crease found Jake Horton whose effort was smothered by  2 defenders. 10 minutes later Horton laid the ball into the path of Vickery whose goal bound effort was pushed wide by the Hengrove keeper. The resulting corner was met on the full by White whose powerful header grazed the crossbar as it flew just over. Wrington Redhill’s midfield took control of the game with Thompson, Shepperd, Hewish and Vickery running the game. On 28 minutes Crease was put through by Vickery but his effort was well saved by the overworked home keeper. After 40 minutes, Wrington Redhill went 1 up after a good moving involving Hewish and Crease was finished off when skipper Ethan Johnson volleyed home  to give the visitors a well deserved lead .
2 minutes after the restart the visitors went 2 up when Ben Shepperd fed Crease with a great through ball and his shot flew in the top corner past the helpless keeper. Wrington Redhill continued to dominate creating more good chances. On the hour a clever chip from  Vickery put Horton in but his flick sailed just over. After 64 minutes Crease put Hewish in who pulled the ball into the path of Callum Vickery who drilled his shot just wide. Wrington Redhill eventually got the 3rd goal they so deserved when substitute Rory Thomas crossed from the left and Ben Shepperd volleyed home.
