Wrington Redhill 3 Stockwood Green 3 (Wrington Redhill win 4-1 on penalties)
With a very strong wind blowing straight across the pitch and not really helping anyone making a farranginous game more likely than anything else. After a fairly even 20 minute spell the visitors were awarded a free kick on their left allowing them to sling a turbo charged cross in on the wind. This evaded everyone until it was met at the far post with a firm header by Harry Templeman giving keeper Rob Hannah no chance. From the restart Wrington Redhill thought they’d equalised but Jake Marshman was ruled to be offside when his shot beat Billy Taylor in goal for Stockwood Green. The equaliser did arrive soon after though when a cross from the right was cleared to Cam Milkins (sponsored by JMC Captures) on the edge of the box and he rifled his shot into the roof of the net. Soon after Stockwood Green were back in front when a neat passing move between Reid and Lewis Bull saw Bull through on goal to finish neatly into the bottom corner of the net. The action packed half was turned on its head again soon after when Cam Milkins threw a free kick into the box almost from the half way line and, as everyone jumped for it, it sailed on the breeze right into the top corner giving Taylor no chance. As Wrington Redhill enjoyed another spell of pressure a frantic clearance fell at the feet of a back pedalling Lew Milkins and as he attempted to pass it back to keeper Hannah whist under pressure he under hit the pass. This allowed Bull to race onto it before rounding Hannah and rolling it into a he empty net just evading the rapidly back tracking Ollie Habgood and Connor Harding -James.
Half-time 2-3
As skies to the north and south of the village started to obnubilate things stayed bright at the rec and the 2nd half was more of the same without the goals. Chances were few and far between but Harrison Campbell was causing chaos in the visitors defence. On one occasion he went on a mazy run down the left beating 2 defenders before cutting the ball back from the bi-line just evaded the onrushing Jack Hutchings and Cody Parslow. At the other end end Skuse, Harding James and especially Jensen Holmes stood firm as the visitors went all out to put the game to bed. In a last ditch attempt to salvage something from the game head coach Jack English switched things up and put skipper Harding-James up front to win some aerial battles and create some chances. Right at the end of the game he created a big chance as he was bundled over in the box for a penalty. Up stepped the ever dependable Jack Hutchings (sponsored by OES Electrical Services Ltd)to slot home the equaliser .
That took the game to penalties that Wrington Redhill won 4-1 .
