Presentation Night is another Winner

Wrington Redhill football club followed up a season to remember with a night to remember when they held their end of season celebrations at the Rec Bar. A fabulous buffet was organised and prepared by Welfare Officer Pat Bull and her team of helpers Isabell Porter, Mary Clements and Michelle Campbell.
The awards got underway in true Wrington Redhill fashion when a Life Membership was awarded on behalf of the club by our President Tim Bush to Chris Holland for the amazing work he’s doing at the club. Chris joined the club over 20 years ago and has played at all levels and more recently has overseen the meteoric growth of our junior section with great skill and enthusiasm . He remembers standing with Paul White and Mark Brown at our 1st ever minis practice session.  15 local youngsters turned up and enjoyed themselves so much that they came again week after week often dragging a mate along with them. There are now over 140 kids signed for the club, mixed teams, girls teams, boys teams all organised by ‘Dutch’ and an army of qualified and completely committed coaches.

A special award and thanks was also given to Leigh White and Mark Brown for all they’ve done for the club. Both represented the club with distinction as players during the very successful’Smudge’ era and beyond. Leigh was also had a very successful 1st team manager before he became  the instigator of the amalgamation with our latest exciting 1st team. Mark was part of Leigh’s match day management team and was anlso involved with Dutch in the very early stages of getting the minis section off the ground.

There was also a big thank you and a  gift for manager Scott Campbell. Scott them took to the microphone to thank everyone involved especially his playing squads and match day helpers. He went on to emphasise the need to further improve our discipline record (over £900 has been spent by this squad on FA fines this season)
