Wrington welcomed Nailsea Town to The Rec for this Somerset Premier Division encounter.
The game started with an immediate own goal by Sam Johnson. Town kicked off and smashed a high ball towards the Wrington goal. Johnson under no pressure did a back header that sailed over the head of the advancing Ben Dancey who was coming to collect the ball.
BT slogan ‘it’s good to talk’ comes to mind. 0-1
Things then got worse for the ‘Redskins’ as a neat pass inside our fullback was latched onto by the Town forward who coolly smashed it into the top of the Wrington net. 0-2.
A response was needed and on 22 minutes Neil Andow once again won a penalty through his excellent movement. The reliable Jake Murry smashed in his third penalty of the season.
The comeback was completed 6 minutes later when a delicious cross from the left by Rory Thomas was met by Chris Gale who swept the ball in from close range. 2-2
HT 2-2
Wrington were now on top as the second half kicked off. Town lost a defender to a second yellow so a win was on the cards.
Manager Smith tried everything making several substitutions with Lucus, Bradley and Cheeseman all coming into the fray but were unable to force a winner.
A decent draw following a poor start.
