Nailsea United v Wrington Redhill

Saturday 6th August 2016

A poor start for The Redskins going down 4-0 to local rivals Nailsea United. This was not helped by the loss of Goalkeeper Gary Clark (pictured) to an ankle injury on 6 minutes. Manager Rich Lucas taking over in between the sticks.

Nailsea had their own problems with several first team players away for the opener but their replacements saw the home through to a comfortable victory.

However, overshadowing the football was the recent loss of Nailsea Stalwart John ‘Hobbo’ Hobbs. John simply was Mr Nailsea United and all clubs if they are lucky enough they will have a John Hobbs in there ranks. Surely their can never be a more deserving minutes silence to remember this unassuming man who never sought the limelight but clearly loved his football club.

Well John, your lads did you proud…..
