Wrington Redhill FC would like to remind players and supporters that we begin our pre season on Saturday 19th July AWAY at Ashton and Backwell (KO 3pm), with the following fixture to take place on Thursday 24th July AWAY at Worle (KO 7pm).
Manager Alan Smith is keen to secure a final pre-season fixture to be played at home on Saturday 2nd August immediately prior to the beginning of the new season subject to availability of The Rec. Details to be finalised.
Training is as normal throughout the year as well as the build up to the new season on Tuesdays and Thursdays where friendly matches are not planned. Alan is planning that some of the training is to be on grass at The Rec prior to the beginning of the season and will be arranging and confirming that with all concerned nearer the time. In the meantime the friendly warm up last week against Tickenham went very well with many of the squad getting a good run out some in various positions [steady].
Graham Cheeseman showed his flexibility by playing centre forward and centre half, some times at the same time and certainly put the work in. Well done Cheeso hope you could get to work the next day? Alan and Probes were able to assess players fitness and formations and this will continue at Ashton and Backwell. Well done to everybody for making it a worthwhile fixture.
A big thanks to Jamie and his Tickenham side who I thought were a well organised and committed squad, very good luck to them this coming season. Finally thanks to Miles and Yanny at The Star at Tickenham for their hospitality and post match welcome. We are grateful for their support and will see them soon.
