Wrington Redhill FC v Fry Club FC
Wrington welcomed Fry Club to The Rec for this Somerset Premier Division clash. Wrington were again with keeper Gary Clarke and were forced to play coach Rich Lucas in goal.
An even first half passed with little incident and ended 0-0.
On the 52nd minute Cheeseman fed in Leigh White who shot wide from a good position. A minute later Wrington took the lead when Chris Gale intercepted a pass and played in Luke Patten, patten picked his spot and slotted the ball home for the opening goal. 1-0
Fry Club pushed hard and eventually got back into the game on 71 minutes when Matt Brown turned in a cross from 6 yards out. 1-1
The game was even and in the last action of the match Wrington almost stole it.
The impressive Luke Patten played a one two on the edge of the box with Cheeseman and hit his shot that looked for all the world to be going in at the far post but the ball turned at the last moment and shaved the post.
The referee then blew up for full time
F/T 1-1
Manager Smith said, ‘ A fair result at the end of the day and we move on’
MOTM Graham Cheeseman. Bloodied and unbowed. A Herculean performance
