Wrington Redhill 2 Nailsea & Tickenham res 3

Wrington Redhill welcomed unbeaten Nailsea & Tickenham reseves to the Rec in what promised to be another tough game for the home team.
As the game started it was the visitors who were looking most likely to score with some excellent forward play particularly their diminutive left winger Jaden Neale who was causing real problems to the Wrington Redhill back line.
As the half entered in midway point it was indeed the away team who opened the scoring, a simple through ball found it way to Neale who slotted home the first goal of the game.
Wrington Redhill 0-1 N&T
The game re-started and Wrington Redhill were starting to find their way and created one or two half chances, just as it looked like the home team were getting on top a poor clearance from the otherwise sound keeper Rob Hannah was intercepted and fed through to Jack Godfrey who put the visitors 2 up at half time.
The 2nd half was underway and Wrington Redhill’s plan to be more compact and press a bit differently was thrown into chaos as the returning Dan Berry was given his marching orders for an altercation with a N&T defender. Probably both players should have been treated the same but in fairness the referee only saw Berry’s push in retaliation and had no choice but to send him on his way. A change of shape and personnel for the home team saw them revert to a 4-4-1 formation, and things got worse for the home team as a sloppy back pass found its way to Nailsea’s Jamie King and he felt contact and went down, the ref didn’t hesitate and pointed to the spot, of which Brandon Hurst converted.
Wrington Redhill 0-3 N&T
Nailsea& Tickenham we’re sensing more goals and it seemed a case of how many at this point. However, if there’s one thing Wrington Redhill have got and that’s absolute determination that no matter what the situation in any game they will just keep fighting, and they did just that. First Sub Kris Bell volleyed home his 2nd goal in two games to plant a seed of doubt in the N&T’s minds, and soon our skipper Connor Harding-James expertly scored Wrington Redhill’s 2nd goal in as many minutes with an over head kick after visiting keeper Mellor had spilled a cross. 2-3 GAME ON!!
With the clock ticking towards the final whistle and with N&T holding on and defending desperately to prevent Wrington Redhill grabbing what would’ve been a deserved 3rd goal. For a while it seemed like only a matter of time. But it was not to be and after another altercation in the N&T box Jack English received  his marching orders and with that the chance was gone.
