Manager Graham Cheeseman had a very frustrating afternoon when, with key players already missing through injury and holidays our Bristol trio of O’Connor Nyanzi and Logan were held up in traffic on the motorway and took no part in the warm ups. Then Mike Faires was injured in the warm up and took no part in the game. A chaotic arrival at any ground normally leads to a poor start and that’s exactly what happened. However, Chris Holland’s tackle that lead to a penalty looked fine from the touch line but the referee thought long and hard before pointing to the spot. Taylor Jefferson blasted the penalty home past goalkeeper Williams. Wrington Redhill were probing for an early reply when the move broke down and Ilminster countered quickly allowing Kye Lazenby to lob Williams for number 2. so after 7 minutes the visitors are 2 down and chasing the game. Wrington Redhill then started to move the ball around with more purpose with Vickery gave the home d fence reason to stay on their toes. That’s exactly what they did and so at halftime it’s 2 – 0 to Ilminster. The 2nd half was eagerly contested by both sides with Wrington just shading it until, with 10 minutes to go, Lazenby rose between 2 defenders to head home past Williams to wrap the game up for Ilminster.
