Equaliser.
Ashcott 1 Wrington Redhill 3

Travelling to Ashcott a team at the bottom of the division with zero points Wrington Redhill must have thought they were in for an easy ride, well, call me an old wiffler if you like, but they were not. They played the 1st half in 2nd gear and were almost punished for it. Apart from watching a Dan Berry volley from a Luke Weeks cross fly over off the bar the home keeper Frank Rossiter had little to do. He watched again as Harrison Campbell blazed over and comfortably collected a Jack Hutchings shot but much of the action was at the other end. For Ashcott Dale Hunt was clean through but delayed his shot giving Josh Skuse time to hunt him down and block it when he eventually let fly. George Wonham had a shot well saved by by Harvey Campbell in goal for the visitors and it was Wonham who eventually broke the deadlock. The ball was fed to him in space in the centre of the penalty area and he thumped it over Campbells head before he even could move.
Half time 1 – 0
Manager Scott Campbell kept the his team out on the pitch at half time for a ‘bit of a chat’ and that seemed to stir them into action. As soon as the 2nd half started they won a corner on the right. (To be honest I was still finishing my tea in the clubhouse when the equaliser went in but was able to  connect via my Dongle to the supporters chat to describe this sequence for you) Harding-James contested the corner in the air and it broke to Jake Marshman who’s volley was blocked and fell to Harrison Campbell who made no mistake with his close range volley past Rossiter. Soon they were ahead when Jensen Holmes, up from the back, played a great one two with Hutchings before slotting a left foot shot past the keeper.  With Cam Milkins and Jake Marshman now controlling the midfield 2 became 3 as Jensen Backhouse put Campbell clean through and his shot from the right was parried by the keeper but straight to Jack Hutchins to roll in to make it 3-1 . 2 behind with 10 minutes to go you’d imagine Ashcott would roll over but not a chance. They were soon piling on the pressure and this could have easily ended as a draw were it not for a series of spectacular saves and blocks from Harvey Campbell in the visitors goal. He actually needed to nebulise at one stage after taking a pile driver from Miller straight in the midriff. Close range efforts from Miller Hunt  and Wilson were all stopped as Campbell saved the day for Wrington Redhill and ho eventually got what they came for.
