The first team travelled to Bishop Sutton for this 2nd Round cup tie.

The game kicked off and a youthful Sutton side took charge from the outset. Wrington had the brilliance of Ben Dancey in goal to thank for keeping a clean sheet and making it to half time goalless. Wrington creating little in the first half.

HT 0-0

The second half kicked off and Sutton were fortunate to be awarded a free kick. From the resulting kick Dancey spilled the ball and the Sutton player tapped the ball home.

Sutton were soon 2 up when the ball was given away with a stray pass (one of countless stray passes in the game by Wrington) The Sutton midfielder played in a great ball down the side of the Wrington Centre back and the forward shot across Dancey into the bottom left of the Wrington goal.

2-0

The best goal of the game then arrived. The Sutton winger managed to wriggle free of two Wrington defenders and struck a shot from 20 yards that sailed over Danceys’ head into the top corner to complete a well deserved victory form the home team. 3-0

Wrington only came into the game in the last ten minutes when the game was lost.

FT 3-0

An inept performance from Wrington but all credit should go to Bishop Sutton’s young side who effectively ran the game from start to finish.

Manager Smith had a number of things to say after the game to his players who seem to have inexplicably  stopped doing what they have been coached to do.

The team and management are determined to get back to winning ways starting next week at training then following onto Saturday where Wrington meet Nailsea Town in the Somerset Cup.
