Club legend and striker Graham Cheeseman has been named as Club Captain for the coming 2014/15 season. Graham’s maturity, experience and presence in the dressing room qualify him as a natural leader both on and off the field.

Manager Alan Smith said ” Graham stood in as acting captain a few times last season and showed all the qualities I need as a leader. He is a vastly experienced totally committed player who understands the game and how it should be played.

He has great respect from everyone at the club as well as being able to communicate with officials in the correct manner which is an asset for any captain. His strength of character will enable him to advise, guide and lead the team in a professional manner this season. He will be a good link for me and my management staff during games and he has belief in the philosophy that we expect and practice at the club which is a massive starting point.

A great appointment for the new season where demands will undoubtedly be higher. I congratulate him on his new position and look forward to our closer working relationship.” Last seasons Club Captain the versatile Mark Andow is taking a short sabbatical to spend some time with his young family.

Alan Smith said ” I would like to publicly thank Mark for his reliability and leadership last season. I am hopeful that he will be back in the team in the next month or so, sooner rather than later as players of his quality are much sought after. He is very much part of my plans for the future of this club.”
