Sadly we have to report that, with the passing of Bill Gough, one of the biggest and brightest stars at our club has gone out. Although Bill’s playing days were behind him when he and Shirley arrived in Wrington he took an interest in the football club and soon became an important part of everything we did. The fact that he served on the committee and represented us on the WSSC committee doesn’t even begin to tell his story, his presence always brightened the clubhouse even after a defeat, his terrible jokes were legendary and he was loved by all. He was always keen to make sure anyone who came to the club received a warm welcome, new players, managers, opposition players and supporters and was the main reason we are held in high regard throughout the county. Rarely has a man of his age been so popular amongst the players young and old and everyone associated with the club have been devastated by this news. Gone but never forgotten.

Our thought at this time are with Shirley, Mike and the rest of the family.
